Outstanding product, but very complex by W. D. Shehane
If it was not for excellent technical support by Pioneer, I would have packed this unit back up and returned it. It is a wonderful piece of equipment and I love the sound, the picture, the versatility, and flexibility. But the CEC issue kept me fiddling trying to make it work for days. When I finally called my Television manufacturer about why my Mitsubishi TV would not play nice with my new receiver, I learned all about CEC (Consumer Electronic Control) and how it was suppose to make all your components play together...but everyone wanted to be in charge. Once I got the TV side fixed and called Pioneer and got their side fixed, everything works beautifully...for as far as I have gone. The manual is thick and it will take months to learn all I need to "fine tune" the system. The good thing is that I am not driven to do that because I love it the way it works and do not wish to fiddle with it! But the Pioneer people have been great! So refreshing to have tech support people who know their equipment and are courteous and patient with their customers and are truly helpful.
