The best purchase I have ever made! by J. Brown
This receiver has everything I needed & more. 4 HDMI inputs, 5 RCA inputs, 2 component inputs, 2 digital and coaxial inputs, 7.1 channels, and much much more! The sound quality is by far the best I have ever experienced. I have never owned a HTS system over $400, so I can't say it is the best period, but for $250 u cant beat this in my opinion. So far I have had no issues, no problems, no cut offs, nothing but perfect sound and compatibility. If you are looking for an inexpensive receiver with 7.1 channels and high definition, this is the right choice.



I could not afford new speakers so I am using 5.1 speakers from a 10 year old home theater system(in a box), I never thought these speakers could sound so exception and clear. I set the receiver to put all of the bass to my new PSW10 powered subwoofer, and used the smallest speaker setting, and PERFECTION! clear, crisp, no distortion, no noise, I am immensely impressed by this system.

Easy to set up and a great amp by Andrew G.
I've had this amp about a month now. Setup was very easy. I had it playing Blue-rays and doing everything else before I opened the manual. Having one wire from each component and only one wire to the TV is fantastic. The amp must be on when you watch TV. I have FiOS and I can program the remote to use the amp for sound and that remote can control it as well. I also have a universal remote, but the FiOS remote does everything I need.



The sound is great. This replaced an older Harman Kardon with digital inputs but no HDMI. I have older DCM Time Windows for my front speakers, Klipsch center and rear speakers and an Infinity sub. A Sharp LCD TV, Panasonic Blu-ray (for it's Netflix capabilities) and FiOS. I'm not an audiophile but I enjoy good sound. This amp is perfect for me.



Configuration is easy (again, I didn't need the manual). You can label the inputs and you can reassign inputs. EG: I don't have an iPod, I have a SqueezeBox. There is a specific connection for a "Dock" but my SqueezeBox has an optical output. I plugged the SqueezeBox into the TV optical input, reassigned that input to "Dock" and then renamed "Dock" to "Music". After I did that, I was on my computer, and since the amp is on the network I decided to see if it had a Web front end (again, I hadn't looked at the manual yet). I went to [...]/ and a very intuitive setup screen came up. You can also backup configurations to your computer and reload them if necessary. Setup is considerably easier from your computer vs scrolling around using the remote.



The list of good things can go on for a while, in the end, it's an amp, it has a good price point, it does what it does, it does it very well and it's easy to use. So far, I have only 2 minor complaints... I have to agree with the review that said the controls seem 'cheap'. they do, but I'm using the remote 99% of the time so that doesn't annoy me. Considering that EVERYTHING is made to sell as cheap as possible, they have to cut some corners, and it looks like they did there. Time will tell if they cut corners on the power supply or any other critical items. Besides that, my only other complaint is cosmetic. Why do they need a sticker on the front showing Microsoft Windows support? All of the other logos are subtle, the MS one is a colorful sticker... the only color on the unit. This is a feature I don't plan to use as I have a Logitech SqueezeBox for music from my network. My questions is: why ruin the clean look for this sticker? Clearly those are both nit-picking complaints.



I ordered mine from Forrest-Electronics in the Amazon Store [...]). They had it on sale for about $200 off the normal price. Shipping was very fast and it was a new unit in a sealed box with a USA warranty. I gave Forrest-Electronics 5 stars for their service.

So far I`m very happy with that reveiver- it have everythink i want in receiver for small price: internet radio , hdmi 1.4 , ipad controll, usb input . Sound is decent and solid,I love the idea with microphone automatic adjustment. You can connect 9 speakers plus subwoofer: 2 front and 2 front "High", center, 2 back and 2 sourrund back ( like in onkyo`s 9.2 systems).

Swiching inputs its not super fast for HDMI 1.4 , but ok . I`m using logitech remote and have to adjust some delay on commands after power up.

I have small problems with some internet radio stations: its not playing all audio formats, but even with supported one it sometimes refuse to work.

I love me Receiver by Paul C
First off the product came in less then 3 days of me ordering.

I was shocked how fast and pleased with the packaging.



I am not one to understand the complete tech sides of their receivers but I know what was important to me.

1) The HDMI's out.. I am using 5 and wanted more just in cass.

2) The 3 Zones. I am using 2 and will use 3 over the next few months.

3) The video/audio processing. Very happy.

4) The Sound Quality. I am using very good Yamaha/Pro Center speakers (7 speakers and subwoofer) and I am just blown away how great everything sounds. From movies to music and even commercials.



There are many programs (sound choices) to choose from like 2 channel, 7 channel, live(many formats), cathedral(many options) that will get the effect you desire. The decoding choices are really great too. I am a big PS3 player for Call of Duty and it was like a friggon war zone in my family room. When you get shot, you actually get a little scard because of the feeling you get with the sounds going on. It's pretty funny actually.



My only complaint was I had a problem getting my speakers working for about 1/2 hour. I have no idea why. I think the sounds default was not setup to 7 channel and I only had like 3 speakers working at the time. Once I figured out how to get it to 7 channels using the program button I was good to go. I thought at first my wiring was all messed up.. Everything is great now.



I love all the speaker configurations they provide as well as the testing and auto setup options.

I just used my network cable and was able to see like 100 interest music channels which sound really good.

The next step is trying to use the web browser to see what options I can do from there.

My goal is really trying to get the most out of the product over the next few months to justify the cost.

I paid $1400.

.... And pretty good bang for your buck. I got them for our bedroom AV setup. It is a basic 3-speaker setup. An older Sony receiver, a Yamaha center channel and these two. No subwoofer. These are decent 8 ohm speakers. Wish they were a bit more compact. Actually, I was originally considering a Klipsch RB-10 4-Inch Two-Way Bookshelf Loudspeaker (pair), but those are 4 times more expensive. These Sony speakers have a decent frequency range, but do not reproduce deep bass. But it was expected. Otherwise, they produce clean sound that does not crack when you turn up the volume. These are not super high efficiency speakers, so you will need to turn the volume up sometimes. Overall a good job, Sony!

Very happy with this purchase. Works even better than I expected.



Connecting it to my wireless network was a breeze. Well, using a single knob to enter my very long network key into the radio was maybe not quite a breeze, but you only do it once. Other than that it was a breeze.



The radio came with a bunch of chinese radio stations set. That was amusing for about 30 seconds. Cleaning them out and setting up something more to my tastes went quickly. There are way more choices out there than most people will have the time to explore. Fortunately it's easy to quickly find something that you'll like. And with access to Pandora (which requires extra steps (including setting up a free account with Grace Reciva (see below))) you can create stations that are tailored to your tastes.



Creating my free account on Grace Reciva to enable "premium" features was a challenge. The website didn't seem to be working too well when I first tried. Lots of "Oops, something seems to have gone wrong and we are working on it" type of messages. I tried later and it went a lot smoother. Linking my Pandora account to the radio was easy (once Reciva started working). Took less than an hour to get everything set up, with most of that time being waiting for Reciva to get their act together.



The sound of the radio is what you would expect from a radio. It won't thump your chest and shake your house. However if you want that sort of performance you can hook it up to your stereo system or a set of powered speakers with volume limited only by the power of what you hooked up. I hooked up a powered speaker system with a subwoofer that I had laying around from a past computer system. Works great.



Radio has pretty good range, but performance will depend on the quality of your wireless router.



I would recommend this unit to friends and family.
