You Simply Can Not Beat This Sub-woofer At Anywhere Near This Price. I Was In Search Of A Musical Sub-woofer To Fill Out The Bottom End Sound With My NHT Super Zero Mini Monitors. I Love These Speakers, They Sound Very Natural And Throw A Huge Sound-stage, However, Aptly Named; Zero Bass Giving Up The Ghost At About 80hz-90hz. This Is Getting In The Mid-bass Area Of Music And Most Subs Just Don't Work Musically This High In The Frequency Spectrum. Let Me State That This Is Not Made And Doesn't Function Extremely Well As A Home Theatre Sub, I Use It While Watching Movies, However Isn't It's Strong Point. Don't Get Me Wrong, It Sounds Good, But While Playing Music, It Just Shines! Quick Response, Bass Drums Sound Clean And Tight, Bass Guitars, Lower Male Vocals, All Sound Natural And Amazingly Realistic. It Has Been Very Hard To Match A Sub To My Little NHTs, An Energy Es-8 Was The Closest I Have Ever Come To The Sound Quality Of This Polk, At More Than 3 Times The Cost, And The Polk Blows It Away. Hooked It Up, And Played With Placement And Volume. After Working It In For About 12 Hours Playing Music And Movies, The Sub Disappeared, Close Your Eyes, No More Speakers, I Had An Orchestra In My Living-room. I Have A Wide Range Of Musical Tastes And This Sub Could Produce Classical, Jazz, New Age, "techno", And A Lot Of Metal, Yes My Audiophile Friends, This Sub Played Metal And Classical Without Breaking A Sweat, Sounded Natural And Realistic The Whole Time.
To Sum It Up, Unbeatable For The Price, You Just Can Not Find A Better Sub For Music, If You Pay 5 Times As Much On A High End Sub From A More "audiophile" Grade Company, You Can Probably Beat It. Remember, Not For Home Theatre.
